Fifteen to One began in 1988, airing on weekday afternoons on Channel
4. Regarded by many as Britain's toughest quiz show, it ran for 35
series, ending in 2003.
Each show started with 15 contestants who were given three lives. They
would be asked general knowledge questions and lose a life if they failed
to get the right answer. Lose all lives and you were eliminated. The show
was hosted by William G. Stewart.
The programme would later return to our screens for ten more series,
with various hosts, from 2013 to 2019.
Fifteen to One was developed by
Regent Productions from a format by John M. Lewis.
